　　Katherine Rundell grew up in Zimbabwe, where animals were always a part of her daily life. She recalls seeing snakes in the garden, monkeys at the market, and rhinos and pangolins near her house. Her childhood experiences inspired her to recreate the feeling of being around wild animals in her book for young readers. By combining these elements, Rundell hopes that her work can raise awareness of the ecological crises that our planet is facing.
