Clovers are lovely green plants that grow close to the ground. They can be found in most parts of the world. Typically, each stem of the plant has three green leaves at the top. However, genetic differences sometimes cause an extra leaf to grow, creating the rare four-leaf clover. Because the chances of finding one are slim, many people believe that finding a four-leaf clover brings good luck. This fourth leaf is often smaller than the other three leaves. Clovers with five or more leaves have also been documented, with the current world record holder boasting an impressive 63 leaves on a single stem.
