　　If you meet someone using a white cane, here are some rules to follow. First and foremost, be respectful. Many white cane users can move around independently and may not need assistance. Therefore, always ask if they need help before giving them a hand. If they accept your help, follow their instructions carefully rather than guessing what they need. Usually, it is best to offer your elbow for them to hold onto instead of pulling their arm.
