　　One of the biggest problems facing the world today is a lack of clean water. This is particularly true for Singapore, a country that doesn’t have enough land to store water. To address this problem, the government launched a project in 1998. It aimed to transform sewage into reclaimed water known as NEWater, which is fresh and safe to drink. A professional team was set up to carry out the development of NEWater.

　　現今世界面臨的最大問題之一是缺乏乾淨的水。對新加坡來說尤其如此，該國沒有足夠的土地來儲存水。為了解決這個問題，其政府於 1998 年啟動了一項計畫。該計畫旨在將汙水轉化為被稱為「新生水」的再生水，它既新鮮又可以安全飲用。一個專業團隊被成立以進行新生水的開發。
