Mint is found almost everywhere in the world, except for South America and Antarctica. There are 600 varieties of the herb, but a lot of them are so similar that even scientists have trouble telling them apart. What we have known for thousands of years, however, is that eating mint has a wide variety of health benefits. For starters, people have been using mint to relieve upset stomachs. It can also help relieve allergies or even asthma, thanks to the acid that it contains.
