Each year, Barcelona invites a foreign city to share its culture during La Mercè. This year, Manchester, England, was chosen as the guest city. Visitors will be able to see art that celebrates Manchester’s character and spirit. They can also enjoy a wide range of traditional activities that have been part of the festival for years. Be sure to take part in at least one of the events below to experience Barcelona’s rich culture.
The Gegants Parade: One of the festival’s oldest traditions is the parade of giants. It features huge figures, including kings, queens, and dragons, that measure four meters in height.
