Have you ever seen a blind person using a white cane? It’s a tool that helps people with vision problems walk safely on their own. It allows them to detect objects and move around safely. The white cane not only helps them navigate their environment but also shows others that the person using it has limited vision. Walking canes have been around for thousands of years, but white canes didn’t become widely used until after World War I. In 1921, James Biggs, an English photographer, lost his sight in an accident.
