1. 人們產生的大量垃圾對環境造成了嚴重威脅。

可譯為：The large amount of garbage people produce poses a serious threat to the environment.

譯題密技：

 the large / small amount of + 不可數名詞　　大量的∕少量的……

 名詞 amount 表「數量」，一般搭配不可數名詞使用，the large / small amount of... 作主詞時，其後動詞要用第三人稱單數動詞。
字詞加油站：

 a. garbage　n. 垃圾（集合名詞，不可數）

 b. produce　vt. 製造，生產

 c. pose a threat to...　　對……造成威脅

2. 因此，回收的重要性再怎麼強調都不為過。

可譯為：Therefore, the significance of recycling cannot be overemphasized.

譯題密技：

 ... cannot be overemphasized　　……再怎麼強調也不為過

 cannot be overemphasized 表「再怎麼強調也不為過；愈強調愈好」，等同於 cannot be emphasized too much。
