To attract new teachers and keep the ones they had, the school district turned an unused field into a solar farm. They also put solar panels on the front of the school. With these improvements, Batesville could save nearly US $ 2 million over the next 20 years and increase the salary for every teacher in the district by about US $ 15, 000. Thanks to the solar panels, Batesville has become a more attractive place to teach. There are now more people who apply for positions at Batesville schools.
